If you are looking for free stop motion software to capture animation on your PC - Helium Frog Animator is what you need. Anasazi hasn't been updated in several years and Martin Price took it upon himself to work on a new program. Helium Frog Animator will work on most modern PC's as opposed to Anasazi which has many compatability issues. I don't think you read the agreement...that why you having problem with it.

It looks pretty good as I said in my title, but I'm looking for a program that you can import camera images. This doesn't seem to give you that ability. Could also be my OS, but with a Windows7 desktop, the program froze on several occasions. Could just be my fault in not looking at the requirements though. No fault on the programmer. Good work in general, I'll just have to keep looking though. Thanks!

I downloaded the program and when I clicked "download now" it said open or save. As usual, I wanted to run it, but there was no option for run. So I opened the file and got pictures of stupid frogs.

Really cool tool Martin! Thanks for all your efforts! My 14 yr old son and I had such fun creating a video of a haunted house complete with ghosts (salt & pepper shakers) and surfers in a combi coming along and killing the ghosts with a rock! Awesome!
In response to Ian M who couldn't start the program because he couldn't choose a skin - same thing happened to me when I moved the exe file from its original download location to my desktop (thought it would create a shortcut) but as soon as I moved it back with all its other downloded files it was fine.

Each camera is different, let him know what type of camera you're using, your operating system and hopefully he can help.

1) Choosing skin.....This is because you did not unzip the file correctly. You need to learn how to use Winzip. You are unzipping just one file , not the whole directory.
2) Stupid Frogs......Same as above. You need to download the file, not run it. This is explained in the doc*mentation on the website.
3)Error code 2.09. The program has difficulty accessing the disk. You may have another program accessing the directory, an extremely slow computer or running the software over a network drive.
4)Canon EOS 550D. It doesn't work as this camera can only stream video to Canon software. You are best sticking with a webcam.

Works great on my sisters windows 7 laptop!

My 13 year old sister likes stop motion but the $70 programs were to much. Once unzipped and saved to the hard drive this program worked well and we look forward to making some animations with it. Thank you for your hard work and making it available at no charge!

Who can help me?

I'm on windows 7, downloaded the program. It starts up nice, cam works and everything. Then, when I click the first frame: (helium frog animator) "i cannot open the .avi file for playback" I can only press "ok" and then i get: "Helium frog error code 04.13" And my only option is, to "just quit".

I tried running it in windows XP modus... nothing!
On an older computer it works fine!
