Sculpting Service Testimonial from Anthony Abdy

To begin with,
I found out about Marc Spess from an animator on the stopmotionanimation forums. Upon hearing about his Sculpting service I e-mailed him and inquired as to whether he was too busy to make a puppet for me and was replied to soon after, stating that he had the time.

I sent Marc my designs and was surprised to be given an estimate straight away. I paid half of the price upfront as an initiation of the project and was sent frequent images via e-mail of the progress on the puppet. Marc informed me of where he was at and what needed doing next. This helped a lot and assured me that he was doing a very good job. As soon as I saw the armature, I knew that this puppet was going to look fantastic. It looked professional, very strong and already showed the exact features I had drawn down. However, it really started shaping up when he had added the first layer of soft clay.

At this point, I realized that if I had set out to accomplish the same look, it would have taken me months as it already, at this point, looked about as good as I could have done myself.

Over the next week, I was sat at home, restless with excitement to see the first image of the Final version. When I received the e-mail, I opened it up and was amazed by the fine detailing of every aspect when compared to my original designs.

Marc was efficient at giving me the adequate information for shipping prices and times and such and when the puppet finally arrived, I was overwhelmed to find that he had packaged everything so well. He had taken care to wrap all areas of the puppet such as the limbs and head and nothing was damaged at all. Marc had also sculpted some replacement mouths, which were in fine condition and that looked really pleasing when used as an addition to my puppet. So far, he has given me advice from his experiences for animating the clay puppet and I have taken it all into account.

I would recommend Marcs expertise in sculpting to anyone who is looking for a professional, aesthetically pleasing and identical to the design, puppet. I will be asking Marc to do some more characters when I have finished my present animation.
