Not really that way for me. I found out that he used Claytoon after I had already gotten some. I found Claytoon when I was sick of using random material around the house to animate, and that was the first thing I found that came in a good amount and wasn't too expensive.

That's the same with me I learned about Claytoon either through Animate Clay or Knox I can't remember, and from Claytoon I got into molding and casting and to where I am today working with silicone and latex.

That's similar to how I started, though I don't really like the Knox guy anymore (he appeared to care more about self-popularity than actual stop motion).
