Live Action Shoot Going Well
Tuesday, 16 November 2010
I have not seen any actual footage from the film yet but, according to the producer, they've got most of the film in the can already. So WHY have I not seen any footage yet, you ask? Because it doesn't make sense for me to! Here's the reasoning... a couple of weeks ago, I was supposed to start seeing some footage but then it occurred to all parties involved that they're shooting lots of cuts and lots of camera angles so, there's a hell of a lot more footage than will actually get used. So unless they do a basic rough edit, I can't really plan for what to do in which shots or from what angle!

So here's the way this will play out, sometime soon (possibly as soon as the end of next week) they're gonna do a rough cut on the scenes I need to add Dynamation into. BUT! they will be sending me most of all of what they shot anyway. That way I will be able to look at all the footage and decide if I think some shots might work better for what I need to do. They're happy to have my input on the final edit... have you ever heard of such a thing??? It's SO COOL that they have that much respect for what I'm doing, that they're considering my take on the cutting. I'm not a slave to the storyboard, YAY!!!

I still have some creature puppet making work ahead of me, just one creature actually and that's already molded and the armature is in it and ready for casting. But it WILL NOT be a simple cast because that creature has a bunch of details that need to be added onto it which I have not dealt with making yet. Oh well, one day at a time.
