There are some shop window fixtures that don't give you as much control but do cost less (both to buy and to run)
I use little angle-poise desk lamps for the most part, with hook-clamps bolted on but the best you'll get out of them is a general wash.

Professional lighting is really expensive. Does anyone out there have any advice or designs for DIY Lights and rigs?
