About Me

Hi, My names Bob and I've been pursuing stop motion for the last four years or so. I always loved entertaining people, which led me to pursue film, which in turn led me to pursue animation. I've done a decent amount of student work in experimental and puppet animation which can all be seen on my youtube page. I recently moved in with another stop mo guy and we are beginning to work on a film together, which we hope will prove to be our first truly professional quality piece. We just completed over 200 story board panels that now adorn our walls, and are beginning to move forward with actual production. It's gonna be fun.

Hobbies

reading, writing, sculpting, drawing, running, hiking, listening to music, watching films, animating...animating...ANIMATING! No seriously I like to animate. I need to get way better at it, and it makes me go a little crazy sometimes, but I still love it.

Books

On my shelf I have the animators survival kit by richard williams, animation:the art of layout and story boarding by Mark T. Byrne, and the advanced art of stop motion animation by ken priebe. The last one arrived a few weeks ago and I've read it twice from cover to cover because it's so informative/inspiring. I's also how I heard about this site. I highly recommend it.

Movie Interests

Every film I see influences me, whether I think it's great, bad, or mediocre. My favorite filmmakers are wes anderson, quentin tarantino, martin scorsese, and others. I can't think about what my favorite films are, as it makes my head hurt.

Favorite Animators

Henry sellick, Adam Elliot, Nick Park, Bill Plympton, Ladislaw Starewitch,(thats probably spelled incorrectly) and anyone who sets out to make films and does it.

Favorite Artists

Another question to make my head hurt. The Beatles and Kurt Vonnegut are likely my favorite artists of all time. After that I could stress myself out too much trying to figure out who deserves to be mentioned, so I'll just stop.
