NEED HELP PLEASE!! Making Wire and Tinfoil Arms that Bend
NEED HELP PLEASE!! Making Wire and Tinfoil Arms that Bend
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am building my first Stop Motion Puppet, out of wire, tinfoil and Van Aken clay. The only part of my puppet that is going to bend is the arms. I have somewhat bulked up my arms a little with tin foil, to the point where they can still bend, but the clay still cracks when I try to bend it.
I tried just putting the clay directly on the wire and it's even worse! What can I do to get the arms to bend with ease???
Hope to hear from someone soon!
Sincerely,

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE!! Making Wire and Tinfoil Arms that Bend
I'm just a beginner in all this, but one technique I have noticed is that upper arms and forearms become narrower towards the elbow. This means there is less bulk to shift and less displacement of material. Try using cling film around the joints -- you want it to be less bulky than tinfoil there...Hope this helps.
