January 2011 - Lose Weight

Re: January 2011 - Lose Weight

Oh, torn between FatherandSons' and Shakycows, I liked NthDimension's too, but had to go through it a few times to see what was going on.
Shakycow, do you want to pick the next theme, since Mr.Weebee is probably tired from picking the past few challenges?  tongue
Nice job(s), guys.

I'm glad to see everyone seems to enjoy Mr.Weebee.  What's the theme Shakycows?

Re: January 2011 - Lose Weight

I enjoyed all of those! I didn't have any trouble following NthDimension's entry on first viewing, I really liked the announcer and the high-speed disclaimer at the end.  And I alway enjoy Mr Weebee. I just love how he shakes his head when the voiceover asks what happened!  At the end it's kind of a gentler version of ShakeyCow's film - both have the direct approach of tearing off the excess bulk, but Weebee is clay all the way through.
That last one - thanks for the warnings!  It's very compact and well put together, with the mood of the action matching the music perfectly, and some really good animation in there.  I like how he pinches his "love handles" just before.... aaargh!  Congratulations ShakeyCow on your well deserved win.
That was a great topic which really brought out the storyteller in each of the animators!

Re: January 2011 - Lose Weight

Wow! Many thanks!

Much like Nick, I had no problems following Nth's animation, but will echo F&S's comment of locking down the camera since the jittering was somewhat distracting.

Mr.Weebee is, as always, a joy to watch. They're playful and entertaining animations that remind of some of the styles I grew up watching. Not to mention, it's extremely fun to watch his new adventures and see such a marked improvement in your animation each time.

As for the next theme, I almost feel bad choosing one since I know I'll be too busy to make my own entry this coming month... but that won't stop me from choosing. I've had a relatively simple idea for a while and would love to see what everyone can do with it.

I choose the next theme to be: 'Waiting in line'

Re: January 2011 - Lose Weight

Thanks for the compliments for Mr.Weebee.  I may not get a chance to enter this one either.  I have a couple of projects lined up and I'm almost done completing a new episode of Mr. Weebee.  I hope a lot of people will enter this one.  There are many possibilities!

Nice job everyone. Shaky, you had a really organic look to your puppet and animation. It was real smooth. I also like the editing and flow. F&S, your film was hilarious. Of course! He's clay! Why shouldn't he be able to do that hah.
