Puppet/Character ratio/s
Hello all!
I am just getting into the clay/armature animation. And was wondering how to measure for the ratios. I know that model cars, airplanes, trains, etc... are built on ratios. But what
about action figures, custom puppets and the like (robot chicken for instance) built at? Don't want to build a monster person and not have him/her work with scene/props.
Re: Puppet/Character ratio/s
Puppets for professional films (and independent films too) are usually between 8 - 11 inches (approximately). Nevertheless, the size of the puppet (the ratio of the puppet to real world) really depends on what you are doing and how much money you have to place into the rest of the props. Keep in mind, though, that a puppet too large will weigh more, and a puppet too small can become difficult to move in precise measures.
