Re: i need help with my sculpting

for smoothing, get your character and then take your thumb and drag it across the areas that need that need to be smoother and keep doing that until the area is smooth. As for sculpting just pull out your character from a ball of clay, visualize what you want and the pull it out of the clay. Here's a video of how to make a clay guy to get you started:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CER7QxqMzy8
this is a very detailed tutorial, it's long, but worth it.

if your uaing a oil based clay then to smooth it out all you have to do is fill a small container with oliv oil and put a paper towl in it weat til it absorbs it . then touch the top of the paper towl and then use the oil on your finger to smoothe out your charecter.

Mamshmam! grr... I hate it. I think he really kills stop-mo. I can't believe he gets 100 times more views than people 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better e.g. Ron Cole, people who did Gerald's last day and our good friend Marc. This really annoys me!
Sorry for my rant. You can use some sort of oil e.g. sunflower or rubbing alcohol. And just smooth it in with the finger between your middle and little finger because it's the smoothest. Just ask Marc, he really helped me when i wanted to know and his made tutorial for it.

Gumby had about the same shape.
Just saying.

Everyone basically covered it.
Practice and a lot of trial and error.
