Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"

is anybody using window live movie maker?  I created a movie and it seems I have more control than the regular window movie maker as far as duration of the pictures I import!  but I am not sure what timing would be equivalent to x amount of frames per second!  I can tweak pictures to make them last longer as needed, but I am not sure how to add sound effects either!  I need to try some other programs!  just dont have the experience and money to spend!  here is my movie.. I need to tweak some of the timing on some parts.. but not too bad... I used lsmaker for the "portal" at the end!  sorry for the low quality... I will make a high quality one if I ever finalize it!

Actually, I'm going to drop out of this one. I want to take the month to focus on what I want to do with my other, non-stop-motion work.

Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"

Did you say there might be some software prizes for the winner? (might be of some incentive to some!)  "grin"
speaking of software.. I have noticed that a lot of the free software is made to capture from a web-cam.  is this the preferred method of capturing now a days?  I was thinking that using my digital camera would be the best way since it would take higher resolution/quality pictures!  which leads me to the next question... is there "web-cams" that are high resolution for capturing stop motion?

I've got a Microsoft Life-Cam (or something similar) which can capture full HD images, so,yes.

The web-cam is aimed at kids, beginners, and other people wanting to try stop motion but not wanting to invest hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in a camera. With the software being free, it, too, is aimed at beginners/cheaper crowd. I wouldn't say web-cams are desired, but they work well enough and are cheap too.

I use the Microsoft LifeCam with MonkeyJam. It works fine, but I have issues with the lighting flickering as seen in one of my challenge entries:

Re: March to April 4th 2012 "weather"

I would, but it doesn't give me the option to disable it. I've even installed the drivers and it still doesn't give me the option.
