July Challenge -

July Challenge -

First of Congratulations to last month's winner Matt Chappell, who's entry can be seen here;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqjZFRisYbM

Matt chose this month's theme;

This month’s challenge theme is... “A strange macabre terror.”
For those not familiar with the term “macabre,” I’ve gone ahead and pasted a brief definition from Webster’s Dictionary below.

1 : having death as a subject : comprising or including a personalized representation of death

2 : dwelling on the gruesome

3 : tending to produce horror in a beholder

It’s a pretty broad theme that will hopefully garner more entries for next month.

Here's the guidelines copy/pasted from the last thread;

>Choose quality over quantity, but still tell your story well
>Keep it stop-mo (effects and camera moves in post are fine, though)
>Be tasteful. Unreasonable Sex, violence and dialogue probably won't get you a win. I guess keep it within youtube's level of "mature content"
>Submit your entry by JULY DAMN YOU JESSE 29th
>Post it in this thread using the forum's video embed features
>Remember it's a Challenge, more than a Competition, it's about improving our ability as animators.

Good luck guys, I think more people are entering this one than June's

Re: July Challenge -

well I am going to have to get my self into this one but even when you found the definition I couldent understand it too well  does it mean:
1. near death situations or actual death situations
2. a terror and fear a scary animation
3. or some thing else what?

Re: July Challenge -

It could be either of those things, I think.

So, according to your guidelines, we have to submit our post 2 days ago? Hmm, that might be the biggest problem. smile
I'll have to plan something for this.
