My first stop-motion!

My first stop-motion!

Hey everybody...
I made my first music video using stop-motion with Lego.
The reactions so far are pretty good, what do you"experts think of it?

I'm planning to make a new video, now I'm using I movie on my macbook.
Its pretty easy of use but the max pics per sec is about 4 and not enough!!
Do you guys know a good, easy and free program for mac.
Thanx!!

Check the movie here.

Re: My first stop-motion!

Hahahaha!!! I really like the idea - very funny way to make a music video. smile
I feel like it wasn't always lined up perfectly - like the drums were split second off, and I think the lights could have been timed to a certain beat at the beginning (they just looked like random flashes).
Nice job on making the mouth "move" on the lego guy.

Re: My first stop-motion!

Hey Jesse thanks for the reply!
I know teh timing isn't fantastic, thats also due to the fact of the max pic per second.
Using Imovie I can only put 4 pics in one second and i feel its a little short for best results.
Can anyone recomend me a nice software wich is; easy, free and for mac?

Btw; about the mounth moving, i saw it in an other stopmotion, the idee is not mine ;-)

Pardon my bad English

Re: My first stop-motion!

I recorded everything in ableton, used some audio samples i've found on the net.
Mixed everything in ableton and masterd it in ableton to.
Made the movie in Imovie and just dragged the mastered audio file in the project, saved it as MP4 (i think)
et voila!

Is there realy no free and good program to make stop motion?
cheers

Re: My first stop-motion!

not for mac. Though I can recommend getting at least the basic version of iStopMotion if you are using a webcam or camcorder.

Re: My first stop-motion!

Yeah. Though a digital still camera might not work as smoothly as you think. Watch the example video and check for supported still cameras here: http://www.boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/videovsstill/

(If all else fails, a simple webcam can suffice for most basic stop motion needs,)
