September 2010 Challenge

Re: September 2010 Challenge

Hey Bagi - well my thought was the exercise would have the dynamics of throwing knives as a way to practice the act itself as an animation. As long as it is part of your exercise in some way it should be fine.

Re: September 2010 Challenge

Ok, I've done a knife throwing exercise - no story, just throwing a knife at a tree.  Blink and you miss it!  So I managed to keep it simple, which is what I figure the monthly challenge is for.   Here it is:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBNzH21XMWs

I'm surprised how well the wire armature measured up to the b&s.  I had to watch that animation a few times -- it's great.

That looks great Nick! The follow through was nice as they came down with the knives.

Re: September 2010 Challenge

I did it, after three years without doing any stop motion I pulled myself together and made a contribution to the monthly challenge. Hope you will enjoy it smile

hehe, that was funny - pretty good for not having animated in years.

Yah, it was okay.  It was a nice little film.

Nice one Mohviv!
I find it hard enough to get back into animating after 3 weeks of not doing it, let alone 3 years.    Still pretty short and simple, but yours actually has a story to it, with a punch line!

Re: September 2010 Challenge

Great little film!  It's funny, and the story is well told - good editing.  Animation is looking good too.
Ok, there's still plenty of time left this month, but my feeling is this one will be hard to beat.  There's a lot more than just throwing a knife in it, but the knife throwing remains the main focus of it.
Yes, I'd like to see more from this character - it adds personality to the idea of doing all these practical exercises and makes it so much more interesting to watch.

I can't figure out why some people can embed the video here, and others can't - it doesn't work for me either.
