October 7 - 21 Halloween Puppet Sculpting Contest!
Hey everyone, this is our latest contest. The rules are:
Everyone must sculpt "or build" a puppet "or puppets" surrounding the theme of the Spirit of Halloween. This can be a witch over her cauldron stirring her magic potions. It can be a scarecrow that comes to life and scares the kids walking by. It can be a monster smashing your neighbors house.
Then post your pictures here below by the 21st of October 2010. The winner gets a stop motion master course from our online store. So the sculpt has to be good to win!

I have an idea for a puppet, but I don't know if I have time to make it before the contest. What about a previously made puppet? Or part of a puppet?

Hey F&S, the contest is for new puppets. But, if you can modify an older puppet for the contest it will be ok.

Looks cool jahnocli, that would make a nice puppet and would be fun to sculpt.

Thanks. I know clay is heavy -- my main concern is keeping it as light as possible!

Hey jahnocli, for your puppets large head I would wad up aluminum foil and wrap it around your armature - and epoxy or glue it in place. That way at least it will take up most of the volume and lighten it up. You could do the same for the zombie head too.

I loved the Coraline sculpture contest Stop-mo magic had. Can't wait to see what people come up with for Halloween.
