new to modelling
Could someone help me as i would like to get started in animation and am struggling because i have heard of all these different methods like foam, latex, epoxy. I live in the uk so may not get any of those us clays and products.
this is what i have gathered from my research so far and I am thinking of trying but i am not sure if it will work
1. make a sketch of how my character will look life size
2. line wire up with the limbs of my drawing
3. seal wire with epoxy putty
4. add foam to armature
5. cut foam to make look neater
6. smother foam in liquid latex
7. paint
8. admire your masterpiece
ps. the hands and face and shoes will be made out of plastercine
thanks

Re: new to modelling
Hi tiptopgolfy,
I think it is easier for you to take a look at Nick Hilligoss´ home page here: http://www.picturetrail.com/hilligossnic He has a picture trail explaining different important stop motion techniques. If you look under "Making Puppets" there is some very good explanations to different techniques; foam latex, latex build up, armature, etc.
hope it helps you!
cheers
Re: new to modelling
