A short I'm working on revolves around a character who is cold and dark at the beginning, but then becomes warm and light at the end. In one of the last scenes, you would literally be able to see this physical change in his character. At the beginning his complexion is pale and blue, but when he changes, his skin turns warm and tan.
I'm not sure however, how I should go about doing this. I would plan on using silicone or latex puppets with replacement mouths. Would this kind of thing be done in post? So something a long the lines of color correction?
Or should I literally make one puppet in the cold tone, and another in the warm tone? You are literally supposed to see the warm complexion rise in his face, so I'm not sure how I would go about doing that.
