3-D Printers for Puppets? #476
Very smooth and impressive.

Question. Would it be more cost effective to print out puppet parts which could be assembled into a complete character and then posed (Harryhausen ) than to print out replacement models (Pal)?

I ask this in the most theoretical way possible since I have little stop motion experience and no 3D printer experience.

Wow, very cool video. I like the idea to use 3D printer for set pieces and props, also for model making (for example cars, ships airplanes etc.). Alltough i could'nt get my hands on one yet to try it out. But i think there are some great possibilities with 3D printer :woohoo:

If anyone is my friend on Facebook, you'll know I really like 3-D printers. I'm curious what the community here thinks about them. It seems like there are so many possibilities to use them for. From armatures, props, set pieces, puppet faces, robotic characters etc. Almost anything you can think of.

Check out this fluid stop motion made with replacement puppets. It's all 3-D printed:

Here's some info about it: 3d Bear Stop Motion
