How do you keep the stage/floor clean? #696
Hi. I usually use baking paper under my clay models to prevent the oil damaging my set and it seems to work well. It is oil resistant and it has the benefit of sliding smoothly for easy animation. If you cut it carefully it will remain invisible under your work. It is also useful as a barrier for tied-down objects to allow you to use the set again. I also use it when I store my puppets and models and I line my work bench with it when I'm modelling. Use good quality thick baking paper. The thin cheap paper won't do the job well enough.

How do you keep the stage/floor clean? #623
Hello,

I am new at claymation. The question I have on my mind now, is how to keep the animation stage clean? If its a chroma-key green poster board like how mine is, on top of a thin piece of MDF?

The clay is Sculpy III. Seems a bit to soft to me so far, but its easy to shape. I guess its kinda oily? That is why it keeps leaving marks on the poster board floor? I'm scratching my head. Maybe I could attach some kind of paper sole to the feet, to protect the floor.

Just wondering how its "normally" done. Thanks.
