Hey everyone, my name is Stefan and I'm new here. I've been experimenting with clay puppets for a couple of weeks and one of my concerns is my puppets don't really have a "finished" look to it if you know what I mean. Alot of finger print smudges and "uneveness", I was wondering if you guys had any tips or tricks I could use to smooth out my puppets as a finished product. I included a photo of one of my recent puppets. Sorry for the shitty lighting, Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Stefan, sorry that I never saw this topic for so long. It seems that it might have accidentally been deleted as well so I restored it. Smoothing clay can be done by taking a little mineral oil, about a drop on your finger and going over the surface with your finger. Use a drop on a soft tiny paint brush and this can be used to get into the cracks of the puppet where your fingers can't reach. Hope that helps.
