Kent Melton Exhibit: Sculptor for Coraline, Paranorman, Disney and Others

Kent Melton is a self taught artist who loves to draw and sculpt in a variety of styles. He is not well known but played an integral part of many Disney features. His sculptures were used as reference for cel animators to keep their drawings consistent.

 

Kent is also one of the designers for many stop motion films such as Coraline and Paranorman from Laika. One day Marc learned his work was on display in Springfield MO, so he took his camera and put together the video above.
