This summer, Lakewood Center for the Arts in Portland Oregon will have many amazing guest speakers. They vary from storyboard artists, VFX experts, directors, producers, animators and fabricators. Each will speak about their craft specifically between June 20 to June 22.
The Script to Screen speakers have worked in a variety of studios, including Aardman, Will Vinton, Tippett Studios, LAIKA, Shadow Machine and more. It is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to learn the craft, hear first hand stories and network.
If you'd like to read the bio's of the twelve speakers, Lake Oswego has a webpage set up here. They also link to each of their social media and websites where you can learn even more.
The exhibit info was given to me by Webster Colcord who is also going to speak on Friday, June 20th - 11am. He will introduce rarely (or never before) seen clips from his career starting with Will Vinton Studios in the 80's to Tippett Studio today. Some of the projects he has participated in include The California Raisins, James and the Giant Peach, the Matrix, Deadpool, Ted, to Disney’s Skeleton Crew and more. Check out his talk "Monsters, Mayhem, and Mistakes: a Career in Hollywood Animation”
He may even be bringing along a surprise!
