The making of King Kong Stop Motion Puppet

animateclay

What if King Kong were made today, how might it be done? Eduardo Solorio took on the challenge and showed his entire process of doing just that. Eduardo started off with a really great sculpture and likeness of the 1933 Kong. He seems to have used Monster Clay for the main sculpture, along with Ultraca 30 for the molds. He then used everything from Dragon Skin silicone, foam silicone (I believe) and resins for the skull fabrication. If Willis O'Brien and Marcel Delgado who made the original puppets were alive today, it' fair to say they would go with similar techniques.
